The 2011 West Coast Wakesurf Open was a great event that combined a fierce competition with some of the best Wakesurfers of the world and fun for the amateurs who could show their talent and potential.
This year’s edition was a high-quality battle between very different surf styles, demonstrating the diversity of this young sport.  

In the Open Men Skim category both Tommy Czeschin and Keenan Flegel killed it with the better end for
the actual world champion Keenan. The Open Men Surf category promised a great showdown between
Chase Hazen and James Walker. James won this head-to-head race with a slight better run and could thus secure his third consecutive title. The title in the women’s category had to be decided between Ashley Kidd
and Jaqueline Fort. Ashley impressed with massive airs while Jaqueline, the later winner, performed so many rotations that it was difficult to keep track of them. This promises exciting world championships!
